Reinventing Yourself at 45+

Reinventing yourself after 45
New You Better Outcomes

The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

As we grow older, we sometimes ask ourselves not only who we are, but often times we start to search for the person whom we are destined to be. Sometimes the answer is very clear, but often times the answer can be a little perplexing. If you are anything like I am, it can go from perplexing to depressing in little to no time. I do not know about you but when it comes to myself, Let’s just say I have made some mistakes on my path. But hey, who hasn’t?

As I sit here at 47 years old (after many bad decisions) in the process of reinventing myself, I constantly ask myself, “Tina, what is your passion”? Your true passion, and not the passion that others think you should have, but the thing that you are passionate about. This question I have posed to God, I am sure he has answered but yet I still ask the same question at least twice a week. I am sure he has answered more than once. Sometimes we can get so caught up in the background chatter that we do not focus on the message of the guest speaker. What I am saying is, sometimes it is hard to concentrate on God’s voice when there are so many outside voices trying to speak over him. We just sometimes need to tune out the background noise, that will help us hear better.

Getting In Tune with Change

Let’s be honest, tuning out the background noise is sometimes easier said than done. We have our families, friends, and at least we do not forget the social media influencers. In this bunch you can find a hand full of people that are honestly trying to give you their opinion and advice for your own good to make your life better, right? So, they think, and I am sure they mean well. But in all honesty, the best person to make decisions about your life is YOU. Now, don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with asking for advice or taking it but at the end of the day, it is your life. The decisions that have the potential to modify your future and change your destiny should be made by you.

In this day and age, with all of the social media influencers, it is so easy to get caught up in the way we think things should look in regard to our lives. It is so easy to get caught up in the hype of the “Gram” as they call it. Before we realize it, we are caught up chasing a dream that actually belonged to someone else. And then we ask ourselves, “Why is it not working out”? We have to come to a point where our destiny is just that” OURS”. It does not belong to our families, friends, spouses, or social media influencers.

Changing things up a bit to be a better person can sometimes be hard, but time waits for no one. I must be honest at the age of 47 I more than likely have more days behind me than in front of me. So, for me, there is no better time than now to change things up a bit. Some things that I have started changing are:

· Embracing my feelings over others. Some many times we put others and their feelings above our own. It is time we put our feelings and needs first.

· Acknowledging that although I have had some failures, I have had many accomplishments. It is so easy to point out all the bad decisions. But hey, let's start to focus on those accomplishments and strengths. Those are what will get you through the next chapter.

· I not only mentally prepare for the changes, but I am also embracing the changes ahead. Let's face it some things don't go exactly like you planned and thought. Sometimes a change-up is exactly what you needed. Embrace it and move with it. It may be better than what you originally planned.

· Having an optimistic attitude and outlook. You are what you think you are. Keep a positive outlook on life and on yourself. Claim prosperity, peace, and abundance and you will have it.

· Not listening to the neigh sayers and the haters. Remember, they talked about Jesus Christ and he died for them. So you do not stand a chance. Haters will hate you no matter what you are doing. Be very selective of your crowd.

A breakthrough is Coming
Don't Give Up Get Moving

Don’t Give Up

As I sit here today, I can honestly tell you that some mistakes mold us into becoming the person we are destined to be. There was a time when I thought I was too old to have dreams. I thought my breakthrough had come and gone and I had missed it. There are so many times I wanted to throw in the towel. Yet, here I am today, a person walking into her future destined to become a better version of my self. I fall short, but I will keep moving and keep trying until I get it right. The greatest advice I can give anyone is “Don’t give up”! A breakthrough may be closer than you think, I know mines is.

Stay Blessed
